CURRICULUMMosaic Academy’s faculty and staff members engage in an ongoing process of research and curriculum development in order to provide our partnering parent educators with materials that foster demonstrated academic growth. At every grade our curriculum relies on a blend of reputable publishers and addresses a wide array of learning styles. We believe that to fully engage learners, curriculum must be interesting, address multi-modal learning styles and offer multiple approaches to important topics. For example we strongly emphasize phonetic awareness but we also support the strengths that come from aspects of whole language instruction creating a comprehensive approach to instruction in literacy. This is true in all of our core subjects as well as the electives that are offered to enrich student learning.Presently, our curriculum outline includes but is not limited to these contributors:

However, we are continually open to new approaches to learning and it’s not uncommon for our parents to also suggest materials that might be useful to other families as well. Its just one of the many benefits that we have found comes from cultivating a community of learners as our classroom instructors and parent educators fully engage in collaboration with one another. |
