Mosaic Academy parents are considered full partners in their child’s education. We seek to enhance and empower the role of the parent educator. Our parents come to us expecting a qualified, creative, and engaging presentation of lessons. In turn we expect our parents to fully engage in the educational process with their students on the days that classes do not meet. Parents should expect to create a time and place for school related activities three days per week allowing for a minimum of 45 minutes per subject of academic instruction. Attendance at the home school site should be treated as seriously as attendance at the academy.
The Parent-Teacher partnership that characterizes Mosaic Academy is fueled by a commitment to full communication and accountability. Parent educators know their children better than anyone else and for that reason it is essential that parents plan to be directly involved in their children’s learning activities and promptly report any significant interests, successes or growth needs to the classroom instructor. Parents should also expect timely feedback, regular progress reports, and customized lesson plans that are tailored to their students needs. Both parent educators and classroom instructors benefit from the accountability that is created through meeting assignment deadlines, passing examinations, and engaging in consistent detailed communication about each child’s learning needs.
